Fusion - HDR Camera App Reviews

Love it

Takes great brackets. I can add them in the app or other apps if I choose.

Hands down, best HDR

Nice brackets, properly merged without halos. Well done!

Greatly extends the capabilities of the iPhone

The small camera sensor in the iPhone can only produce images with a limited dynamic range. Fusions ability to align and merge three exposures, taken with a single release of the shutter button, allows it to create iPhone images of significantly expanded dynamic range. Problem solved. An interesting feature is the ability of the app to create asymmetrical brackets. The shadows might be 2.5 stops over and the highlights only a 1.5 stops under - all determined automatically by the app. One benefit is that blown out sky details with a nasty cyan tint are no longer a problem. Lastly, the app has very use full set of tools for adjusting all of the key parameters in the merged image. The app will be improved once the creators enable an end to end TIFF workflow. The present version can merge even 22 meg TIFFs from other sources, but can only output up to 10 meg JPEGs. All in all, Fusion HDR is very highly recommended.

Great app but limited by the jpg file format

This is a great HDR app with a very useful feature set. It is limited by the jpeg file format. What it really needs is access to the RAW file generated by the image sensor which Apple does not allow. 16 bit tiff would be a great improvement if possible. The built in camera app does HDR but you have no creative control.

Photo manipulation

I only recently began taking my photography hobby seriously. I like using my phone to photograph almost as much as my main camera. My only beef with fusion is that Id like to be able to do the same thing on my pc with my canon. Other than that you have a very powerful photographers tool in the palm of your hand:) thanks
